David Walton - Chairman of the Board

David worked with Tim Woolmer to help set up Yasa Motors and has, since the company’s inception in 2009 been Chairman.

 

David was CEO of Stannah Stairlifts for 20 years until 2008, during which time Stannah established subsidiaries in 14 countries and expanded its distribution operations to include a further 25 countries. Stannah also won the DTI-sponsored award for the best factory in Britain and was firmly established as the world market leader in its field.

 

David was educated at Cape Town University, reading Business Science, then as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford where he read Philosophy, Politics and Economics.  He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in London. He fulfilled a range of financial, sales, marketing and general management roles for the Chloride Group and Abbott Laboratories before being appointed CEO of Stannah.
